To support our team in Cologne we are looking for a

 

Product Design Specialist (m/f/d) - RFQ

 

You will be responsible for the development and CAD design of HR/AR products from concept design to successful production. In the CAD Design Specialist role, you will be responsible for communicating with the customer CAD design teams and translating customer requirements as well as internal requirements and quality standards into 3D models and associated drawings.

 

Your tasks

 

  • Direct contact with product development engineering teams internally and on the customer side
  • Responsibility for the design of sub-assemblies and components in terms of feasibility
  • Follow-up with suppliers and internal departments to assess product manufacturability
  • Preparation of product presentations for internal contacts as well as for customers
  • Preparation of bill of materials (BOM)
  • Preparation of technical specifications for the products and the product book
  • Preparation and support of tolerance analysis and studies related to the required functionality of the product
  • Material selection for the components during the design phase
  • Evaluation, review and analysis of required customer specifications during the design phase
  • CAD data exchange with customers, suppliers and business units
  • Active support in the improvement of internal development and manufacturing processes

 

What you bring

 

  • Master's/Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5 years of professional experience in a similar position in the field of product development in the automotive industry
  • Excellent knowledge and application of CATIA systems required for your design activities
  • Ability to foster creativity and innovation both as an individual and as a team member
  • Proven ability to develop strategic approaches and problem solving skills
  • Strong skills as a team player
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Willingness to travel
